Leapmotor recorded 2,662 new registrations in Germany in June, a 366% increase on the same month a year earlier. According to Germany’s Federal Motor Transport Authority, that made Leapmotor the number one Chinese EV manufacturer in Germany by pure electric registrations in June, and put it on the podium for overall sales among Chinese brands. For a brand that only launched in Germany at the end of 2024, that’s a serious result.
Across the first half of this year, Leapmotor sold 8,402 vehicles in Germany, up 306% on the same period in 2025. June was a record month on two fronts: the highest monthly volume the brand has achieved in Germany, and a 0.9% market share, the highest since launch.
“We are very pleased with the first half of 2026 and are growing at an above-average pace,” said Martin Resch, head of Leapmotor Germany. “The focused work on private customers over the past months is paying off. We are now reaping the fruits together with our strong dealer network. Even before our first fastback model, the B05, reaches dealerships, we are already seeing strong demand. And with the compact SUV B03X, the next new addition is already in the starting blocks.”
What’s Actually Driving the Numbers
The T03 is doing most of the work. It was the number one vehicle in Germany’s electric microcar segment in June and the best-selling Chinese EV in the country overall. One thing that sets Leapmotor apart from several other Chinese brands in Germany is the service setup. All sales and servicing run through the Stellantis dealer network, which means buyers aren’t taking a gamble on a brand-new standalone operation. What’s Coming in H2
The second half of this year looks busy for Leapmotor. The B05 fastback hatchback is arriving at German dealerships shortly, filling the gap between the T03 and B10. Orders for the B03X compact crossover opened in July 2026, priced from €24,900. It’s built at the Stellantis plant in Spain, so it avoids EU tariffs on Chinese-imported vehicles.
Between the B05 and B03X, Leapmotor now covers the compact hatchback and urban crossover segments it previously didn’t have dedicated models on the continent. The Numbers in Perspective
A 366% jump looks extraordinary, and the direction is genuinely positive. But growth percentages from a small base always need context. Leapmotor only launched in Germany at the end of 2024, so the H1 2025 figures it’s beating reflect a brand still finding its feet with limited stock and a dealer network that was just getting started. The growth rate will slow as the base gets bigger, and that’s completely normal.
What’s more useful to focus on is the 0.9% market share and first place among Chinese brands on pure electric registrations. Those are absolute measures, not percentage comparisons, and they paint a picture of a brand that’s genuinely established in Germany rather than just running fast off a low starting point.
