The European EV market is moving faster than most people expected, and range is one of the biggest reasons why. Not long ago, an electric car capable of driving few hundred km on a single charge felt almost futuristic, and the shortlist of models that could do it was tiny. Today, that number is no longer a headline grabbing exception but a growing benchmark, with more manufacturers pushing well beyond it and bringing serious long distance capability to the mainstream.
That shift matters because it changes how people think about EV ownership. Long range electric cars are no longer just for early adopters or luxury buyers chasing the latest tech. They are becoming a realistic option for drivers who want fewer charging stops, more comfort on motorway trips, and a car that fits everyday life without compromise. In this list, we look at the EVs available in Europe that offer 600 km or more of WLTP range, and the lineup shows just how quickly the market has matured. To put things into perspective, last year we had just 12 long range EVs on the list, and now there are more than 50.
But if you’re looking or a smaller, cheaper car that still delivers decent range though, my article Which City EV has the best range might be just what you need.
EVs with 600+ km WLTP range in Europe
The EVs in this list are arranged from the highest to the lowest WLTP range, making it easier to compare the longest range models at a glance.
I’m using the WLTP standard here because it is a laboratory test procedure designed to produce comparable figures for energy use, emissions, and, in the case of EVs, range on a single charge. It is not perfect, and real world results usually differ from WLTP figures, but it remains the best way to evaluate different EVs under exactly the same conditions.
China uses a similar standard called CLTC, which is designed to reflect driving conditions on Chinese roads. For more information about these standards, you can read my article: WLTP vs CLTC: what you need to know about ev range standards.
Just keep in mind, most of these come in several versions, and I’ve highlighted the ones with the best range.

FAQ
Which EV has the longest range in Europe?
The Lucid Air leads with an impressive 960 km WLTP range, making it the longest-range electric car available in Europe right now.
How many EVs offer 600+ km range in Europe?
More than 50 models now deliver 600 km or more WLTP range, showing how quickly EV battery tech is advancing.
What’s the difference between WLTP and real-world range?
WLTP is a lab test under controlled conditions. Real-world range is typically 70-85% of WLTP figures depending on weather, driving style, and highway speeds.
Why use WLTP instead of CLTC or any other range figures?
WLTP is the European standard for comparable EV testing. CLTC (used in China) typically shows higher numbers as it reflects different driving conditions. Read more in my article WLTP vs CLTC: what you need to know about ev range standards.
Which affordable EV has the best range?
The MG IM5 (710 km WLTP) offers exceptional range for the money. For even cheaper city EVs, check my article Which City EV has the best range.
Are Chinese EVs reliable for long range?
Yes – models like MG IM5, MG IM6, Zeekr 001, Zeekr 7X and Hongqi EH7/EHS7 all deliver proven 600+ km WLTP range with European warranties.
