MG has confirmed that its IM5 saloon and IM6 SUV will launch in Denmark, extending the reach of what the brand describes as its most advanced electric lineup to date. The announcement came from MG Motor Denmark on August 19, with both models expected to reach Danish dealers by October.

IM stands for Intelligence in Motion, SAIC’s premium electric sub brand, which MG sells under its own badge everywhere outside China. The IM5 is a fully electric saloon built around performance and aerodynamics, while the IM6 is the SUV version of the same platform, offering more space and practicality. Both share an 800 volt architecture and a 100 kWh battery on their higher trims, along with fast DC charging, though the Danish press release doesn’t confirm exact figures for the local market. For a clearer picture of what to expect, I covered the full pricing and specifications from the German launch in detail, where the IM5 starts at €53,990 and the IM6 at €56,990.

What’s the difference between the MG IM5 and IM6? The IM5 is a fully electric saloon, while the IM6 is an SUV built on the same platform. Both share the same battery options, motors and interior technology.

When the IM5 first reached Norway in 2025, it launched at roughly €33,380, a large gap from the German starting price. I went through that pricing spread, along with the IM5’s interior, competitors and full specification, in my earlier review of the model. Denmark’s EV tax structure sits closer to Norway’s than Germany’s, so there’s a reasonable chance Danish pricing lands somewhere between the two rather than mirroring the German figures directly.

Both cars are currently built in China rather than at any of MG’s European facilities. That’s a separate question from MG’s production plans elsewhere in Europe, which are expected to focus on higher volume models rather than this premium pair.
