Volkswagen Group today announced a significant surge in its all‑electric vehicle (BEV) deliveries, reporting a ~50 percent increase worldwide in the first half of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024. TThis strong growth highlights the company’s growing momentum in its shift toward electrification.
What the Numbers Say
Global BEV deliveries reached 465,500 units, up 47 percent from 317,200 in H1 2024. BEVs now represent 11 percent of total deliveries, compared to 7 percent last year. Europe leads with a massive ~90 percent increase in BEV uptake, making Volkswagen the clear market leader with ~28 percent share. When it comes to regional performance, here’s what the numbers say:
- Western Europe: 1 in 5 vehicles delivered is now fully electric; orders are up ~60 percent
- North America: BEV deliveries grew by ~24 percent
- China: deliveries declined by ~34 percent, aligning with expectations

Complementing the BEV surge, PHEV deliveries reached 192,300 units, a 41 percent increase year‑on‑year, reflecting growing demand for electrified hybrids with extended electric range.
